West Ham head coach David Moyes talked about their target to qualify for the top European stage after beating Liverpool on Sunday.

West Ham boss David Moyes aims to stand firm in the top four of the Premier League following Sunday’s thrilling win over Liverpool.

In an enthralling contest at the London Stadium, the Hammers handed the Reds their first defeat of the new campaign.

An own goal from Alisson and two others from Pablo Fornals and Kurt Zouma allowed Moyes’ side to move above Liverpool in the league table.

Moyes has the slightest of ideas that their domestic league title chances are probably low but definitely believes that they can occupy a place in the Champions League next year.

After the game, the Scottish coach told BBC: “I want to be really positive all the time. I would like to say that is what we can do. I don’t see that at the moment.”

“We can challenge the top four but whoever they are I want to see if we can give us an opportunity, we missed out on Champions League football by two points [last season] so why can we not be there?

“We are not getting carried away but this is feeling good at the moment.”
