The north Londoners have been quite efficient in the final third lately, having scored 18 goals in their last six games in all competitions.

Jose Mourinho has brushed off suggestions that he sets up his team defensively after Tottenham’s resounding victory over Crystal Palace.

Tottenham put four past Crystal Palace during their Premier League on Sunday, with Gareth Bale and Harry Kane each bagging a brace.

Kane’s second goal win marked the team’s 100th goal of the season across all competitions. As per Opta, Spurs have become only the second team in Europe’s top-five leagues after Bayern Munich to reach a century of goals in all competitions this term.

“I was told 100 goals scored in the season which for a very defensive team, a very negative team is not bad,” Mourinho said post-match, via Football London.

Only two points now separate Spurs from fourth-placed Chelsea after the 4-1 home victory.

Mourinho added on his team’s performance: “It was good, it was enthusiastic. We dropped a bit and for me, the goal we conceded was a consequence of the loss of control. The second half was very good.

“We did well and a day off tomorrow before we come back for a tough match in Europe.”
