The Gunners manager has expressed dissatisfaction over the change in the European scheduling for their north London rivals.

Mikel Arteta feels Tottenham have an unfair advantage over Arsenal heading into next weekend’s North London Derby.

Three days prior to their Premier League clash on March 14, both the London rivals are involved in Europa League action.

Arsenal take on Olympiacos while Tottenham face Dinamo Zagreb for the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie.

Spurs’ tie was initially scheduled to take place in Stadion Maksimir but due to safety concerns, UEFA moved it to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Gunners, meanwhile, have to take a near-3,000 mile round trip to Greece, meaning they will get less rest than their upcoming opponents ahead of their meeting at the Emirates.

“It does, but unfortunately it’s not going to change,” said Arteta, as per Sky Sports.

“We can raise our voices and we should do that, because we want to have two teams playing in equal conditions. But the decision has been made and that’s it.

“I don’t want to use one bit of excuse going towards that game saying, ‘oh, they have an advantage’.

“So no, probably I will use that to take it in our advantage. And that’s it.”

UEFA regulations dictate that no two teams from the same city can host matches on the same day.
