The Tottenham boss provided an injury update on Gareth Bale and two other stars ahead of the club’s next match.

Jose Mourinho expects Gareth Bale to be unavailable for a ‘few weeks’ ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League match against Fulham on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old, on loan from Real Madrid, withdrew at half-time after scoring the opening goal in Spurs’ 3-1 EFL Cup win over Stoke City last week amid a reported calf injury.

Bale later missed the trip for Spurs’ 1-1 draw against Wolves over the weekend and now appears set for another spell on the sidelines, despite Mourinho insisting the issue is not ‘serious’.

Lucas Moura and Carlos Vinicius are also doubts for the Fulham match.

“No, I don’t expect him to be fit and also I have my doubts that Lucas and Vinicius can be fit for Fulham,” said the Spurs boss as quoted by Football London.

On Bale, Mourinho added: “I wouldn’t say it’s serious, but I’d say a few weeks.”

This setback is yet another unwelcome blow for Bale. The Welshman has struggled to make his mark on loan from Real Madrid, having made just one start in the Premier League so far.

Mourinho has instead named Bale as a starter in all six of the club’s Europa League group-stage matches, but he has substituted him in each game.
