Pressure intensifies on the Portuguese tactician after his side slipped up yet again in Sunday’s marquee Premier League fixture.

Tottenham were humbled by Manchester United at home, suffering a 3-1 defeat to further damage the chances of Champions League qualification.

Son Heung-min opened the scoring about five minutes before the break, firing a low shot into the bottom-left corner. It was all United after the break as Fred found the equalizer before Edinson Cavani, who had a goal ruled out in the first half, put his side on the front foot and Mason Greenwood put the match to bed.

Tottenham have now dropped points on 17 occasions already this campaign, playing out a draw seven times and getting beaten 10 times.

The loss to Man United marked their 10th defeat this season, and with it came a rather unwanted personal record for Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho has suffered 10 losses in a league campaign for the very first time in his illustrious over two-decade-long managerial career.

The former Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Porto boss has already been on a slippery slope with calls for him to be sacked and now finds himself under greater pressure after Sunday’s setback.

A six-point gap separates Tottenham from a Champions League spot while they are short of three points for a Europa League place, sitting at seventh with 49 points from 31 games.
