Jose Mourinho finds himself in a delicate position at Tottenham following their 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
If reports are true, Jose Mourinho could be approaching his final days as Tottenham manager.
It’s been a past few weeks of disappointment for the north London side.
Just one win from their last five league games has seen Tottenham drop to ninth place, just two points above London rivals Arsenal.
For someone who is self-acclaimed as the ‘special one’, Mourinho has not been all that special since he took over as Spurs boss.
In fact, a recent 3-1 defeat to Liverpool saw the Portuguese manager lose two consecutive home games for the first time in his career.
The latest defeat for Mourinho and company came at the hands of West Ham on Sunday afternoon. Goals from Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard condemned Spurs to a 2-1 defeat.
Before the game, the Daily Mail suggested a defeat ‘could be the final nail’ in Mourinho’s coffin.
With that in mind, a sacking could certainly be on the cards.
However, the report claims Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy might still consider giving Mourinho some time to turn things around. It did take a lot for Spurs to convince the former United boss in the first place.
Also, sacking Mourinho might prove to be expensive. Spurs might have to pay the 58-year-old about 30m for the remainder of his contract.
However, missing out on the top four and the Champions League for the second consecutive season could force Spurs to make a decision.
