The Premier League has arrived at the midway point, and Mason Mount already knows who will win the Player of the Year award.
Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount believes that Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has been the outstanding player in the Premier League this season so far.
Following Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Leicester, Manchester City moved eight points clear at the top of the table.
But even though Pep Guardiola’s side is showing dominance, Salah has bagged 15 goals along with nine assists midway through the campaign.
And Mount is of the opinion that the Egypt international will surely receive the Premier League Player of the Year.
When Amazon asked about the league’s top performer, Mount said: “There’s a few, I think, that you can put out there. But I think the amount of goals he’s scoring, the assists he’s getting, I think Mo Salah would definitely be up there.”
He added: “He’s a big, big player who turns up in the big games and scores big goals. He’s setting the bar very, very high. And I think as a player you want to be able to do that. He’s setting the bar very very high at the moment.”
