Over 800 people have reportedly died following the disaster on Friday.

Morocco internationals have donated blood for those injured in the country’s 6.8 magnitude earthquake.

The disaster was one of the most devastating earthquakes to have ever hit the country, taking several lives and leaving many more injured.

A number of high-profile sporting figures have sent their tributes and condolences, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also publishing official statements.

“Real Madrid C.F., its president and Board of Directors express their deepest concern and solidarity with the victims of the earthquake in Morocco in recent hours,” the Blancos’ statement reads.

“Our club extends its condolences to the families of the deceased and all the Moroccan people. Likewise, we wish the injured a speedy recovery and we transmit all of our strength and affection.”

On Saturday, a number of Morocco internationals, including Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui and Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi, donated blood to support the earthquake victims.

Hakim Ziyech and Sofyan Ambrabat, who played key roles in Morocco’s dream run to the World Cup semi-finals, also showed support through their social media posts.

The Atlas Lions were due to face Liberia in their final AFCON qualifier on Saturday. However, the game was postponed due to the recent tragedy in Morocco.
