Memphis Depay has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Barcelona as the Dutch star nears a summer exit from Lyon.

What didn’t seem real at one point appears to be a reality now as Depay closes in on a surprise move to Barcelona this summer.

New Blaugrana boss Ronald Koeman has given Luis Suarez his marching orders and seems to have settled on Depay. The pair know each other well, having worked together for the Netherlands national team. Therefore, ‘Tintin’ has allegedly played it safe in opting for a known talent.

Suarez’s departure from Camp Nou is expected in the upcoming weeks, with rumors going stronger by the day regarding a switch to Juventus.

Despite the Uruguayan’s exit still not confirmed yet, Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona have agreed on personal terms with Depay and that talks are ongoing with Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum’s agents.

The famous transfer expert, however, added that Barca officials are yet to make a final agreement with Lyon, who are understandably reluctant to part with their star player this summer.

There are rumors suggesting the Catalan club could throw in Samuel Umtiti to sweeten the deal. However, the French center-back’s fitness woes and salary could too big an obstacle for Lyon.

Lautaro Martinez, meanwhile, will likely be off the agenda for this summer at least if Depay does head to Camp Nou.
