The Scotland international put his side on the driving seat right from the start in the much-anticipated match against their old rivals.
Scott McTominay was one of the standout performers from Manchester United’s 6-2 thrashing of Leeds United on Sunday.
The Red Devils went two ahead moments after kick-off as the 24-year-old midfielder scored a couple of goals within just the first three minutes of what was an exciting end-to-end match.
McTominay’s quickfire brace saw him become the first player in Premier League history to score twice in the first three minutes of a match.
The Scotsman celebrated by uploading a picture of himself on his Instagram account with the caption: ‘Big win!!!’
One of the many to respond to his post was Bruno Fernandes who gave his teammate a fresh nickname, ‘Scottynaldinho’.
“Football is really strange. Well done Scottynaldinho,” Fernandes commented.
McTominay responded: “Oi, we’ll be having words tomorrow me & you!”
McTominay also received applauds from Man United captain Harry Maguire and West Ham midfielder Declan Rice for his performance with the former commenting ‘what a performance’ and the latter writing ‘different class today’ on his post.
