In a recent interview with France Football, Kylian Mbappe made a surprising admission about Neymar that describes his leadership in PSG.

A player as good as Kylian Mbappe must feel like he can lead any project without living under Neymar’s shadow. But the French forward just made a surprising admission that possibly leaves him as the better man. When Neymar played at FC Barcelona, he initially struggled to be the second fiddle to Messi. Now that he is the leader at PSG, Kylian Mbappe appeared as another heir to the throne. However, Kylian knows his place in the scale and he never got in the way of Neymar’s leadership.

Although both players are stars, Mbappe knows that Neymar is this project’s leader. “Neymar does everything. He is the best player in the whole world. When he came to Paris, we realized everything he does. He is not just a player who gives you a show and dances when we are winning 5-0. Neymar also knows how to do spectacular things when we are nil-nil. I don’t know if people realize. I’ve always believed great players are meant to play with each other. That much is clear between us.”

Mbappe accepts to be the sidekick, for now…

In the interview with France Football, Mbappe made a surprising admission: “Roles were established since I came to Paris: Neymar is the center of the project and I’m here to help him. Because when I came to PSG, I still wasn’t an emerging star and I needed to prove that on the pitch. In the beginning, we didn’t speak much about football but about the climate or the supporters. It was complicated at first because I didn’t speak English or Spanish.

“We always had the need to try and talk with someone else in order to translate our words. Neymar is a good lad. Honestly. He is far from that arrogant boy image. I will never forget how he helped me in my beginnings. When you are 18 years old and you come to a great dressing room, it’s never easy. In these great clubs, 60% of your success depends on your football and the other 40% depends on your adaptation. He helped me a lot and I will never forget it.”
