The young World Cup winner has long been linked with relocating to the Spanish capital – and it seems the move is finally about to happen.

Kylian Mbappe “is not going to accept” a contract extension offer from Paris Saint-Germain and “will play for Real Madrid next season”, according to Spanish journalist Josep Pedrerol.

PSG remain entangled in negotiations with Mbappe as they continue to try and convince him to extend his stay at Parc des Princes.

The talented forward has just over a year remaining on his current contract, and the Ligue 1 champions risk losing him for free in the summer of 2022.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid supposedly view the 22-year-old as their next ‘Galactico’ and identify him as a successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Reports also claim that the Frenchman, after enjoying immense success in his homeland, is ready for a new challenge.

“I repeat: Mbappe will play for Real Madrid next season,” Pedrerol said on Monday night’s edition of his ‘El Chiringuito’ program.

“He is not going to accept a renewal from PSG and is confident that the club will be prepared to set a logical price considering he has a year left on his contract. And he is very keen [to join Real Madrid].”
