Mikel Arteta had removed Mattero Guendouzi from his first team squad with question marks over the French midfielder’s temperament.

Guendouzi was given his marching orders against Brighton & Hove Albion. It signalled Arsenal’s second defeat post coronavirus pandemic enforced lockdown.

Mikel Arteta did not approve of his dissent and axed him from the first team roster. He was consigned to the fringes of first-team football until the end of the season.

The midfielder was linked with a whole host of clubs and even part of Gunners’ rumored swap deal for Philippe Coutinho. Arteta seems to have a change of heart and Guendouze will be staying at the Emirates Stadium.

In the ensuing time period, Guendouzi has not uploaded an image or a video on his Instagram account. He did post to his stories as Arsenal claimed the FA Cup in his absence.

With Arteta opening the doors to first-team action, the PSG youth academy graduate has now broken his silence on Instagram. He posted an image of him training alongside the first team.

Arsenal have been on a silverware run, winning the Community Shield following the FA Cup triumph.
