Nemanja Matic rates Manchester United as one of the three best clubs in the world and found the opportunity to join them very tempting.

Nemanja Matic made his first appearance in Manchester United colors in a friendly against Sampdoria, a match that made him one of the very few players to have represented both Man United and Chelsea.

Matic completed a straight switch to Old Trafford from Stamford Bridge in July 2017 in a transfer worth around €45 million.

It was as shocking a move for Chelsea fans as it was amusing for the United fans, for the Serbian had been an integral part of the Chelsea team.

The left-footed defensive midfielder had guided the Blues to two Premier League titles and a FA Cup trophy during his two separate spells at the club.

The two-time Serbian Footballer of the Year, who recently relieved himself of international duties, has endured a dry spell with the Red Devils in terms of collective success. Nevertheless, he is proud to represent the club he considers as one of the world’s very best.

“We can say maybe Real Madrid, Manchester United and maybe Bayern Munich. For me, that’s the three biggest clubs in the world,” Matic said during his episode of UTD Podcast.

“It was easy to make the decision. I don’t want to say that I was not happy at Chelsea, of course I was happy, but I thought it was the right time to move.

“As I said, when you get the chance to go and play for Manchester United I think that you have to use that.”
