Ace Football previews the Champions League match between Manchester United and RB Leipzig, and offers betting tips, line-ups, odds, and team news.

Manchester United welcome RB Leipzig to Old Trafford on Wednesday for their second Champions League in Group H this season.

The two sides head into this mouthwatering tie on the back of winning starts to their respective campaigns. United, for one, secured yet another famous victory in Paris last week, while Leipzig brushed aside Istanbul Basaksehir.

It promises to be an entertaining spectacle of two teams ladened with young and promising talents. Three points is a must, with Paris Saint-Germain waiting to capitalize on any setback for either side.

Manchester United Form & Stats

A brilliant 2-1 win over PSG in last week’s Champions League opener lifted some pressure off Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He got it spot on and deservedly won plaudits in Paris. But, unless he can keep a consistent rhythm going on, the fans may get even more frustrated.

Last weekend’s 0-0 draw against Chelsea, meanwhile, extended United’s lackluster home record. In fact, they’re winless in their three league games this season (D1 L2). That, on top of a leaky defense, may prompt hope for Leipzig snatching a memorable victory in Manchester.

But, aside from that disastrous 6-1 loss to Tottenham, the Red Devils have won five of their last seven games in all competitions. And three points on Wednesday would set them up nicely in Group H and for this weekend’s showdown with Arsenal.

Key Team Stats
  • Winless in their last five home games in all competitions (D3 L2).
  • Lost just one of their last seven games in all competitions (W5 D1).
  • BTTS in four of their last seven games in all competitions.

RB Leipzig Form & Stats

Last season’s semi-finalists plan to go one better this time around and proved their resolve with a comfortable 2-0 win over Istanbul Basaksehir in last week’s Champions League opener.

Now Leipzig, who have won six of their seven games this season, prepare for their biggest challenge in Group H yet. Picking up three points at Old Trafford is always easier said than done. But as they’re unbeaten in their 12 away fixtures, it’s not impossible either.

Let’s not forget that this is the same side that beat Tottenham in London and kept Bayern Munich at bay in the Allianz Arena last term.

Julian Nagelsmann announced in his pre-match conference that Leipzig won’t be hiding and intend to take home all three points. The head coach was in a confident mood on Tuesday. And with the club leading the Bundesliga, who can blame him?

Timo Werner may be no more, but Leipzig have already had eight different goalscorers this season. Even full-back Angelino, on loan from Manchester City, has got in on the act by scoring both goals in the win over Istanbul.

Key Team Stats
  • Unbeaten in their last 12 away games in all competitions (W8 D4).
  • Unbeaten in seven games in all competitions this season (W6 D1).
  • Lost one of their last nine Champions League games.
