With reports of AC Milan lining up a bid, Victor Lindelof has stated his future plans at Manchester United.

Victor Lindelof is eager to continue his journey with Manchester United, expressing his wish to sign a contract extension.

The Swedish defender’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season. There have been rumors of a switch to Serie A giants AC Milan. Yet, with Manchester United holding the option to extend the player’s deal by 12 months, a move to Italy appears unlikely.

Speaking about his contract situation to fotbollskanalen, Lindelof stated, “I have an option [for another] year and there is a deadline for it. When exactly I don’t know. But it feels likely that it will be activated.”

“Absolutely [I want to stay]. I am entering my seventh year and enjoy myself very much. I feel good, and the family feels good. It’s a club that I really like, and that I love to represent.”

Lindelof joined Manchester United in 2016 from Portuguese team Benfica for €35 million. He has since made 241 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and handing out six assists.

The 29-year-old will hope to feature in Saturday’s trip to Sheffield United in the Premier League.
