According to the latest reports, Manchester United have seen a breakthrough in their pursuit of Alex Telles. The deal could be official by Monday.

Manchester United have finally agreed to an €18m deal with Porto for full-back Alex Telles.

After a series of negotiations over the past few weeks, a deal has finally been agreed between both sides.

Telles is due to have a medical later today and a deal could be announced before the deadline on Monday.

The Athletic reporter David Ornstein released details of the deal via a report on Sunday afternoon.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been desperate for a new left-back to bolster his defensive options. The United boss seems to have got his man in Brazil international Telles.

With 13 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season, his attacking prowess makes him an attractive option for United. The defender was also a regular and helped his side keep 20 clean sheets in the Primeira Liga last season.

Solskjaer has been frustrated in his attempts to strengthen his squad for the new campaign, with Donny van de Beek the only new arrival at Old Trafford.

Monday could now be a busy day for the Red Devils with Telles and Cavani set to complete their moves.

Elsewhere, United are also looking to sign another Uruguayan in 18-year-old Penarol winger Facundo Pellestri. As per reports, the teenager could only switch to Old Trafford on deadline day.
