Now that we know about Edinson Cavani’s transfer to Manchester United, we need to break down his wage and agent fees upon arrival.

Edinson Cavani is Manchester United’s chosen forward for this new season after failed attempts for Sancho and Dembele. The English forward is simply unattainable. The supporters were starting to get livid for Ed Woodward’s inaction. A chairman who has been on the plank for some time, simply couldn’t allow another transfer window to go blank.

United needed a world-beater and Edinson Cavani fits the requirements almost perfectly despite his age. Just by looking at his numbers, we are talking about one of the most prolific footballers of the last decade. Both him and Luis Suarez are Uruguay’s pride, which allowed him to make wage demands, unlike any other player.

In fact, those demands are what prevented him from signing for other giant clubs such as Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, or Juventus. But United seemed desperate and they agreed to what he requested.

Cavani’s wage and contract in detail.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United agreed to pay Cavani €10 million per-season. The striker will sign a contract for one year and the option to extend it for one more for the same wage. There was only one problem that prevented both sides from reaching an agreement: Cavani’s agent’s fee.

Manchester United reportedly refused to pay another €10 million to his agent but they seem destined to understand each other in the coming hours. If everything goes as expected, we will be announcing United’s latest transfer in the early hours of Sunday or Monday at the latest. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally has a reliable striker who can help them fight for trophies for the next couple of years.
