Manchester United has taken a tough blow as two of their star players have been ruled out of their next match with Everton due to injury.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that both Scott McTominay and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will miss Manchester United’s quarter-final clash against Everton for the Carabao Cup. The pair sustained injuries at the Red Devils’ last Premier League game against Leeds United.

Scott McTominay earned the Man of the Match prize after scoring a brace and assisting Daniel James for another. However, the midfielder was forced off in injury time as he experienced some discomfort in his groin. Although Wan-Bissaka managed to play the full 90-minute match, he was injured after making a challenge at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer provided MUTV with an update on the players’ condition ahead of their clash against Everton.

“Those two will miss the game against Everton definitely,” said Ole. “Hopefully, it won’t be too long. They’ll be out but, apart from that, I think everyone is, more or less, okay.”

Jesse Lingard will be making his return for the Red Devils.

The Manchester United manager has confirmed that Lingard will be in the squad for the trip down to Merseyside, as his physical condition has finally improved.

“Jesse will be in the squad,” Solskjaer said. “He has been working hard in training. He has been unfortunate with having to isolate a few times, been in contact, or close contact with COVID, not even having it himself.

“He’s been very unlucky being away from the training ground a few times. He works really hard and he’ll be involved in the squad, definitely.”

Manchester United take on the Toffees in a very important match, as the Norwegian boss has claimed the club needs to win the EFL Cup trophy.
