In order to ease up the financial crisis, Barcelona are reportedly ready to sell one of their most expensive signings ever this summer.

Manchester City winger Ferran Torres has addressed the recent rumors linking Antoine Griezmann with a move to the club.

Manchester City are said to be in the market for a new attacker, having parted with club legend Sergio Aguero at the end of May.

It has been reported Griezmann, who has supposedly been deemed surplus to requirements at FC Barcelona, is on the Sky Blues’ radar. The Frenchman enjoyed a fine 2020-21, scoring 20 goals and supplying 13 assists in total, but Barca are desperate to cut down their wage bill, and he could be sacrificed.

Man City could be the ideal destination for the 30-year-old as he could effortlessly adapt to the false nine role under Pep Guardiola.

“He’s a great player,” Torres told Marca when asked about the Griezmann to Manchester City transfer rumors.

“Obviously, he’s at Barca; let’s see what can happen. I don’t know if [Pep] Guardiola has spoken to him.

“City are one of the best teams in the world, and they want to have the best players to win everything. If he comes, fine; if not, we’ll keep working.”
