The Red Devils are struggling with low squad depth in midfield.
Erik ten Hag has confirmed Christian Eriksen will play again for Manchester United after the international break.
Eriksen suffered an ankle injury in Man Utd’s FA Cup victory over Reading on January 31st. United signed Marcel Sabitzer on the deadline day to cover for the midfielder’s absence.
Ten Hag admits his side have to play without Eriksen at least until the international break.
“I think he will play, yeah, definitely,” the Dutchman said when asked whether he expects Eriksen returns before the end of the season. “But I can’t tell now an expectation, but I think his progress with the rehab is okay. It’s going according to plan, so we will definitely see him, but not before the international break.”
Man Utd bounced back from their embarrassing defeat against Liverpool by beating Real Betis 4-1 in the Europa League.
Ten Hag praised his side for their reaction after the Liverpool setback.
“We said that we had to reset and we have to bounce back and I think we played quite good first half,” Ten Hag added. “I think we should have been up 3-0 also, but then we make one mistake.
“Then you go 1-1 into half-time but we bounce back in the second half and I think it was a really good performance in the second half.”
