Manchester United have reportedly registered an interest in the highly-rated Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon produced an outstanding campaign at Sevilla during his season-long loan from Real Madrid but has no future in the Spanish capital nonetheless.

Zinedine Zidane trusts his current options at the left-back position and will continue to rely on the likes of Ferland Mendy and Marcelo next term.

Having seen the Santiago Bernabeu door slammed shut, the 23-year-old Spaniard is likely to find a new destination to maintain his development.

Although Sevilla are keen to extend Reguilon’s stay beyond the summer, the Andalusian outfit will have to come up with a plan to match Real Madrid’s €20-25million valuation.

That opens the door for other suitors to come in, and Manchester United are now seriously considering swooping in for the 2019/20 Europa League winner.

As reported by Spanish publication Marca, the Red Devils have the financial capacity to meet Los Blancos’ demands and are also on the lookout for a new left-back.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has grown tired of Luke Shaw’s physical inconsistency but can’t only rely on the 19-year-old Brandon Williams to carry out the entire season.

Reguilon, on the other hand, perfectly suits the profile of recruitments the Norwegian has made during his Old Trafford reign.

With Chelsea also out of the race after capturing the signature of Ben Chilwell, Manchester United have a clear path to the up-and-coming left-back.
