With their squad stacked with adept attackers, the Red Devils have decided to temporarily let go of one of their younger forwards.

Manchester United are working on sending Amad Diallo out on loan for the rest of the season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.

Diallo joining the club from Atalanta with a reputation of one of the most exciting talents, Diallo struggled to make a place for himself in the Man United first-team in 2022-21.

Amid intense competition from the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood, and Daniel James, the 19-year-old managed just 10 senior appearances in the United shirt.

His struggles are only going to worsen this season since the Red Devils have further bolstered their attacking options by adding Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho to their ranks.

Hence, the Ivory Coast international will now leave Old Trafford so as to continue his development by joining a club – reportedly Sheffield United – where would be guaranteed consistent minutes on the pitch.

“Yes I do [expect him to go out on loan],” said Solskjaer in response to an inquiry about his plan for Diallo this season by the Man United media.

“It’s not 100 per cent signed but we’ve agreed. I don’t have to say which team it is yet [smiles], but we’ve found a place that Amad feels excited about and we feel excited about.”
