One of the longest-running transfer sagas in recent years is over as Manchester United complete their capture of Jadon Sancho.

Jadon Sancho has completed his move to Manchester United in a deal worth around £73 million (€85m).

The former Borussia Dortmund winger has signed a five-year contract until June 2026, with an option for another 12 months included, to bring an end to a saga that lasted for over a year.

United struck a £73m agreement in principle with Dortmund last month, but a hold-up in finalizing the paperwork delayed the transfer.

Nevertheless, the Red Devils have finally got their man and Sancho is thrilled to sample the Premier League after an impressive four seasons in the Bundesliga.

“I’ll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first-team football, although I always knew that I would return to England one day,” he told the club’s website.

“The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League. This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve.

“I am looking forward to working with the manager and his coaching team to further develop my game.”

Due to his involvement in England’s run to the Euro 2020 final, Sancho is on a three-week summer holiday. Therefore, he is set to begin pre-season training in the first week of August.

The 21-year-old could make his Red Devils debut in the club’s final friendly against Everton at Old Trafford on August 7.
