The Uruguayan forward ends his two-season spell at Old Trafford.

Ralf Rangnick has confirmed Edinson Cavani will leave Manchester United this summer.

The Red Devils play their final game of the campaign against Crystal Palace on Sunday. Cavani starts in United’s lineup as Cristiano Ronaldo has missed the game due to an injury.

Speaking before the match, Rangnick confirmed this would be Cavani’s last appearance for the Red Devils.

“It would be good to finish this season with a good game, three points, and I’m pretty sure the team sees it the same way,” the United boss said.

“Out of our starting XI, there will be 10, apart from Edi Cavani, who will still be playing for this club next season.

“I presume they’d much rather play in the Europa League than the Conference League.”

United finish a dismal campaign that has left them stranded in sixth spot on the league table. They must beat Palace to ensure they will have a place in the next season’s Europa League.

Rangnick himself will also experience his last match as United’s manager. Ralf Rangnick will take over from the German boss this summer as the club prepares for a summer overhaul.

As many as ten players are reportedly preparing to leave Old Trafford ahead of the next season. The club are also eyeing several new additions to their squad, with Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong being among their most talked-about targets.
