Manchester United are reportedly keen to add Dennis Zakaria to their ranks this January.

Manchester United are spending their first transfer window since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick. United’s unbalanced performances in recent weeks have highlighted their need for improvement. After a busy summer transfer window, the Red Devils are now preparing for their first January signing.

According to Mirror, United are keen to sign Denis Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach this winter.

Last week, the Swiss star confirmed he will leave the Bundesliga club after the expiration of his current contract. He will be available as a free agent next summer. However, United want to sign him on a transfer fee this January to avoid competition in the summer.

Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Juventus, and Borussia Dortmund are all monitoring Zakaria’s situation closely. United will most likely face serious competition even if they decide to make a January bid.

On the other hand, Gladbach are keen to sell the player this January. This current transfer window is the Bundesliga side’s last chance to get a transfer fee for the 25-year-old.

In addition to Zakaria, several sources have linked United with a move for RB Leipzig starlet Amadou Haidara. However, Zakaria will be available for a cheaper fee, providing the Premier League giants with more resources for the summer.
