Pep Guardiola’s injury problems continue, as he has been left without a striker for the UCL trip to France on Tuesday evening.

Manchester City’s squad arrived in Marseille earlier today, as they take on The Phocaeans tomorrow evening.

However, Sergio Aguero was not on the plane, along with the new acquisition: Nathan Ake.

The Argentine forward suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham. He spent only 45 minutes on the field and couldn’t help the Citizens to avoid their second draw this season.

With Gabriel Jesus already sidelined, Pep Guardiola will have to face Marseille without a central forward.

Raheem Sterling is expected to start as a “false number 9”, while Kevin de Bruyne’s fitness is also a concern for the Spanish head coach.

Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho is another big name on the absentee list. Teenagers Harwood-Bellis and Cole Palmer traveled with the squad but are not expected to feature in the game.

The good news for Pep is the return of Aymeric Laporte, who might team up with Ruben Dias for the first time since the Portuguese’s arrival.

Manchester City’s squad for the clash with Marseille via Metro:

Midfielders: Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Foden, Nmecha, Doyle, Bernabe, Torres, Palmer
