Liverpool continue their quadruple dream as they clinch a narrow win over the Citizens at Wembley.

Liverpool defeated Manchester City 3-2 in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday. The Reds reached the tournament’s final after killing off the game with a brilliant display in the first half.

Mane steals the show at Wembley!

Similar to their Premier League game of the last week, Man City and Liverpool started the game by pushing for an early opener. This time, however, it was Liverpool who got the first blood through Ibrahima Konate in the ninth minute.

The defender converted Andrew Robertson’s corner with a powerful header to put Liverpool forward. The Reds then doubled their lead only eight minutes later.

Following an unbelievable blunder by City keeper Zack Steffen, Sadio Mane made it 2-0 for Liverpool with a smart tackle. City pushed hard to get back into the game in the first half, but their efforts only led to Liverpool’s third goal just before the half-time.

An assist from Thiago Alcantara found Mane, who smashed the ball past Steffen with a brilliant volley from the right corner of the box.

Man City scored their first goal of the day through Jack Grealish only two minutes into the second period. It came at the perfect time to hype City for a comeback.

However, Liverpool managed to hold their opponents at bay for longer than expected. Bernardo Silva made it 3-2 for the Citizens, but it was already too late to change the course of the game.

What’s next for Liverpool?

Liverpool reach the FA Cup final, where they will face the winner of the semi-final clash between Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

Before that, the Reds must return to Premier League to host Manchester United in the North-West Derby on Tuesday.
