Harry Maguire has called on his United teammates to move on from the Sheffield defeat and put in a strong performance against Arsenal.

A goal from Harry Maguire was not enough as the Red Devils were stunned by a 2-1 scoreline at the hands of Sheffield United.

United were expected to win this fixture and go back to the top of the league but their expectations were cut short.

Maguire did score his first league goal at Old Trafford to give his side the equalizer but they were undone by a goal from Burke in the final quarter of the game.

Ole Solskjaer was equally left disappointed and also called for a reaction from his side.

Skipper Harry Maguire has now done the same and wants a big performance from his teammates when they take on Arsenal at the weekend.

The Gunners are on good form at the moment and are currently unbeaten in their last five league games. They also won this fixture back in November at Old Trafford courtesy of a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang penalty.

Maguire is already looking forward to that game and has called for an immediate response from his teammates.

“When you do get a defeat, there’s nothing worse than waiting to get back out on the pitch to play and put things right,” he told the club’s website.

“The boys are devastated, if I’m honest. It’s a really quiet dressing room. The boys are so disappointed; we didn’t expect it, we came into the game confident.”

Maguire continued: “We’ve got to pick ourselves up. We are disappointed and it hurts, but Saturday is a big game and we’ve got to bounce back.”

“It’s all good and easy when you’re winning football matches and you’re playing well, but now it’s time to stand up and be counted.”

“When you get kicked down, it’s how quickly you bounce back and Saturday’s a big one and we’ve got to get three points.”
