Romelu Lukaku is openly critical of EA dropping the overall ratings of several players in their most recent edition of FIFA.

The wait of the fans of the popular video game franchise FIFA was over on Thursday evening when EA revealed the top-highest rated players in the latest edition of the game.

FC Barcelona’s Lionel Messi was unveiled as the best-rated player with an overall rating of 93, closely followed by 92-rated Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar, Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne, Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak shared the third place each with an overall rating of 91.

A few players enjoyed hikes in their overall ratings as well as in individual attributes, others not so much. And one such player among them is Romelu Lukaku.

Despite enjoying a remarkable debut season with Inter Milan, scoring 34 goals, Lukaku suffered a downgrade in FIFA 21. He was an 86-rated striker in FIFA 20 and he is now rated 85 in FIFA 21.

The Belgian marksman was quick to express his disappointment as he labeled EA’s rating system to be a publicity stunt.

He tweeted: “Let’s be honest fifa just mess with the ratings so we players start complaining about the game and give them more publicity… i ain’t with this sh*t. I know what i do.”
