Today was the final press conference Luis Suarez offered as a Barcelona player, he bid farewell to the supporters and Leo Messi in tears.

Luis Suarez kind of knew he would leave FC Barcelona eventually but he didn’t think it would be through the back door. The Uruguay native has been one of Barcelona’s most prolific players over the last six seasons. During the last campaign, Luis still scored over 20 goals despite being considered below-par throughout.

Before all this talk about his exit even started, Suarez was already Barcelona’s third all-time top scorer below Messi and Cesar. The Argentine developed a beautiful friendship and a brotherhood with Suarez during the last six years. He answered questions about this relationship and spoke about the way Leo feels with all this.

During a press conference on Thursday before starting a new adventure with Atletico Madrid, Suarez spilled everything. It’s clear that Luis didn’t want to stop competing because he is going to a direct La Liga rival to prove he can still score many goals.

Suarez’s tears and his relationship with Messi.

From the very moment he sat down to talk to journalists, Luis was clearly emotional. There were tears that came down his face at a certain moment. But everybody wanted to know how Messi felt with his exit.

“Everyone knows the relationship I have with Leo,” said Suarez on FC Barcelona’s website.

“When you arrive at Barcelona they say to be careful with Leo and now after many years, Leo and I get along spectacularly and they say you are bad for him.

“We know the time we had in the team and that we tried to perform at our best and live up to what Barcelona is and in my case, I can leave feeling proud.”
