Luis Suarez has distanced himself from recent comments made on his Barcelona future by insisting he’ll speak only when necessary.
Reports emerged on Monday claiming that Ronald Koeman has no role for Suarez at Barcelona next season, and informed the striker of this during a brief phone call.
Neither the 33-year-old nor Barcelona have publicly commented on this rumor yet, but he was seen out in town leaving a restaurant with Lionel Messi on the same night Alejandro Balbi commented on the pair’s relationship.

The lawyer, who previously worked for Suarez in the past, remarked on how their brotherly bond could influence each other’s decisions as both players seem set to leave Camp Nou.
“Messi’s future will have an influence on Suarez’s because they are best friends, they get along on and off the pitch,” Balbi told TyC Sports.
“There is a lot of brotherly love between Messi and Suarez, they are inseparable, always together.”
Suarez’s brother, Paolo, also teased on Twitter earlier this week by posting: ‘This got good and will get better’. It’s not clear whether he meant Luis’ future or the transfer mayhem in Barcelona, but it got fans and several media outlets gossiping anyway.
But now Suarez has reacted to the recent comments made on him by assuring fans he’ll speak when it’s time.
“There are people talking about me or on my behalf when I have not had a relationship with them for years,” he wrote on Instagram stories.
“When I need to speak, I’ll speak for myself.”
