The La Liga champions have looked largely unlike themselves this term, but it only makes them far more ‘dangerous’ according to the former boss.

Real Madrid are seven points adrift of the top position in the table early in the 2020/21 La Liga title race after dropping nearly half of the possible 30 points.

Zinedine Zidane’s men have already lost three league games so far this season, the same amount of losses they took in in the entirety of the last season en route to winning the title.

This poor form of theirs has not only been limited to Spain but also has carried out in Europe with Los Blancos at risk of crashing out of the Champions League after just group stages.

A horrible run of zero wins in the last four matches could further extend when they meet European champions Sevilla on Saturday.

Julen Lopetegui, a man who held the office at Santiago Bernabeu for two just months in 2018, however, has warned his current side against showing complacency ahead of facing his former team.

“We enter the game with obvious excitement against Real Madrid. We will compete for those three points against an opponent whose level we are all aware of,” Lopetegui told the press conference, via Marca.

“We must be prepared for the great demands that we face. Real Madrid are more than a great team.

“Real Madrid are always dangerous and even more so in these situations. I expect a strong Real Madrid, who will demand a lot from us.”
