Despite Liverpool’s injury woes in defense, a report claims the Reds are ready to let Sepp van den Berg leave on loan in January.

Liverpool will listen to offers and are ready to let Sepp van den Berg depart on loan in the January window despite the injuries to their defensive department.

The Reds have seen each of their senior options in central defense suffer injuries this term, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez having fallen to long-term injuries while Joel Matip picking up a series of minor complaints.

The injury crisis has seen 19-year-old Rhys Williams and Under-23 player Nat Phillips promoted into the first-team spotlight.

Van den Berg has spent most of the season with the Under-23s but has occasionally been named on the bench by Klopp as a defensive cover.

Fabinho has even been deployed in defense to cope with the club’s injury woes but that would not stop Liverpool from letting the 19-year-old leave.

Goal reports that Klopp is ready to listen to offers for the Dutchman and could be willing to sanction a move provided an ‘exciting’ offer comes in.

The report adds clubs in Belgium and Switzerland’s top flights and Germany’s 2. Bundesliga is already showing interest in the player.

For Liverpool, the plan is to see Van den Berg pick up regular minutes during a loan spell in a bid to up his game ahead of next season.
