Liverpool’s injury list keeps growing as one of their biggest stars is reportedly sidelined for two months due to a knee problem.

The medical department at Anfield just can’t get a day off. One day Klopp receives uplifting news about his players’ recovery, and the next he loses a new player due to injury. At this stage, it’s probably easier to name the Reds that haven’t been injured this season.

According to Record, the latest addition to the list is none other than Diogo Jota. Liverpool’s new star sustained the injury at Liverpool’s last Champions League group-stage match. Although initial reports indicated Jota would return to action soon, now it seems the trauma is more serious than expected. The 24-year-old may be sidelined until February, which means he would miss out on some serious Premier League action.

Although Jota began his season at Liverpool being dubbed as a substitute, the Portuguese immediately showed he was aiming for more than a permanent bench spot. Diogo’s mission seemed impossible as the Reds have one of the strongest attacking trios in football. However, his top performances soon had the fans asking Klopp to bench Firmino instead. Now, it seems Liverpool will have to cope without their second top goalscorer of the season.
