The Reds have suffered another injury blow to their midfield line.

Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic will miss the rest of the season with an adductor injury.

The Spaniard has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough season at Anfield. However, he has to stay sidelined for months to recover from the injury.

“It’s very sad to say goodbye to this amazing season for me,” Bajcetic said.

“But I understand this is part of football and will only make me stronger physically and mentally.

“I would also like to say thank you to you Reds for all the support through the season and I assure you I will do my best to be back stronger than ever.”

Bajcetic’s absence is a massive blow to Liverpool’s top-four chances in the Premier League. The Spaniard provided Liverpool’s midfield line with more depth as they spend another injury-ridden campaign.

The 18-year-old made 19 appearances this season, scoring once. However, his performances convinced Jurgen Klopp to use him as a substitute in several key games in recent weeks.

After crashing out of the Champions League on Wednesday, Liverpool will focus on claiming a top-four finish in the Premier League.

The Reds will face Fulham in their last league game before the upcoming international break.
