The Reds have moved fast to complete their first signing of the summer transfer window.

Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of completing a move for Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister.

Rebuilding the Reds’ midfield line is seemingly Jurgen Klopp’s first priority during the upcoming transfer window. A number of midfielders have emerged as possible transfer targets for Liverpool.

However, it seems the club has no doubts about meeting Brighton’s demands for Mac Allister.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool will pay the Argentine star’s exit clause. The Sky Sports journalist claims the fee will be less than the previously- reported £70m.

The Reds are yet to reach a full agreement with the player’s representatives. However, they will most likely finalize the move by the next week.

Other sources have reported that Mac Allister’s Liverpool contract could be worth £150,000 a week. That’s triple what he currently earns at Brighton.

The departures of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have opened up space for new players in Liverpool’s midfield unit.

The arrival of Mac Allister provides Klopp with another reliable option in the middle of the park. But the club will most likely continue their pursuit of Ruben Neves and Declan Rice during the summer transfer window.
