For the upcoming summer transfer window, several players will move on from Anfield as free agents.

Liverpool have confirmed that seven players will depart the club at the end of their contracts.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have formally submitted their Premier League retained list, confirming which of their footballers will be available for a free transfer at the end of their contracts on July 1.

The biggest name on the list is Divock Origi. The Belgian striker ends an eight-year association with the club. He scored a plethora of crucial goals, including one in the 2019 Champions League final against Tottenham. Struggles for regular starts, however, have prompted him to seek a new team this summer amid links with Serie A champions AC Milan.

Which other senior players will leave?

  • Loris Karius: The German goalkeeper hasn’t played for Liverpool since his error-strewn performance in the 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in 2018. He has spent the last four years either on loan at Besiktas and Union Berlin or on the sidelines at Anfield.
  • Sheyi Ojo: Ojo also makes way, pulling the curtain on an 11-year Reds career. The 24-year-old attacker made just 13 first-team appearances. He spent the bulk of his time on loan, playing for Millwall, Fulham, Cardiff City, Reims, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
  • Ben Woodburn: The fourth and final senior player to leave the FA Cup winners is Ben Woodburn. The midfielder is Liverpool’s youngest-ever goalscorer; netting at 17 years and 45 days old against Leeds United in an EFL Cup tie in 2016. But he played for the first team just 11 times and will now leave as a free agent this summer.

21-year-old midfielders Elijah Dixon-Bonner and Luis Longstaff, along with 19-year-old right-back Sean Wilson, are the three youth players that will leave Merseyside.
