One of the most exciting young defenders in Bundesliga, the Burkina Faso international has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
Edmond Tapsoba has played down the Chelsea transfer talks saying “there is nothing concrete” in place as of yet for him to join the London club this summer.
Having swapped Vitoria for Bayer Leverkusen only in January, Tapsoba has earned a reputation of being an exciting prospect, with athleticism and physicality noted as two of his best attributes.
The center-back, as a result, has drawn attention from some of Premier League‘s elites including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United.
Bolstering defense is said to be high on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s agenda at Man United while the London clubs are also in the market for a new center-back and could battle it out for the 22-year-old.
Tapsoba, though, has five years remaining on his contract at BayArena and it appears he intends to honor it.
“With Chelsea, for the moment, there is nothing concrete, nothing official,” the Leverkusen man said in an interview with Afrique Sports.
“What I can say is that I will start my season with Bayer Leverkusen. We keep our fingers crossed for God to guide us to the right path.”
