Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted to his dream second debut for Manchester United saying he’s “proud to be back” and “happy to help the team.”

Ronaldo slotted straight into the Manchester United starting XI for the club’s first match after his signing and the international break.

Tremendous hype had been building up regarding the 36-year-old’s second debut for the club – and he did not disappoint.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus star put United on the front foot with a smart finish in the first-half stoppage time before restoring their lead deep into the second half with a lethal left-footed finish to inspire his side to a 4-1 win over Newcastle United..

Ronaldo wrote in an Instagram post: “For me, it has always been a magical place where you can achieve everything you set your mind into.

“Along with all my team-mates and with the amazing support that we always get from the stands, we face the road ahead with confidence and optimism that we’ll all be celebrating together in the end.

“Proud to be back at Man. United and playing in the Premier League once again, but above all, happy to help the team!

“Let’s go, Devils!”
