Juventus’ nine-year Serie A dominance finally ended, but Bonucci remains optimistic for the future.

While accepting Inter Milan deserved the Scudetto, Leonardo Bonucci insists he and his Juventus teammates will ‘get back on our feet’.

A 2-1 comeback win over Udinese on Sunday was marred by Inter’s title victory. It ended a run of nine consecutive Scudetto crowns for Juventus, who lie 13 points behind the newly crowned champions in third-place.

“An era is over,” Bonucci told Sky Sport Italia.

“We certainly didn’t help ourselves this season by dropping points, but Inter were the most consistent team in the long run for this year.

“From today, another chapter begins and we must find the hunger to get back what we lost after nine years of domination, something that is difficult to replicate in the future. It was truly epic.

“Congratulations to Inter, they deserved the Scudetto, but we’ll get back on our feet and get back out there.”

Nahuel Molina’s 10th-minute penalty left Juventus on the back burner on Sunday evening. Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace in the final seven minutes, however, sealed a crucial 2-1 comeback victory.

The outgoing champions will next welcome AC Milan in Turin next weekend.
