King Power Stadium was the place where Leicester City received a visit from Chelsea in the Premier League. We have the player ratings.

It’s official, Chelsea is in a dire moment right now after tonight’s result against Leicester City. Frank Lampard only lost a single match out of his first 19 managed for the Blues. However, he lost five out of the last nine he’s coached so far. We know he is a Blues’ legend as a player, but tonight’s result at King Power Stadium might just be the last straw for Roman Abramovich. We all know the Russian oligarch has very little patience with his managers, and there’s no reason this should be any different with Lampard.

Tonight, his players had a chance to save the manager if they delivered results against the Foxes. But Brendan Rodgers’ squad is amongst the most solid football clubs in European football today. Perhaps they aren’t considered title contenders but they will compete against any club in the world. Ndidi made sure to leave that clear with the early opener. James Maddison ceased a defensive mistake to score the second and final goal of the game before the break.

Chelsea can’t come back from the loss.

After the break, we saw more of Brendan Rodgers’ ordained tactics that completely overshadowed Frank Lampard’s feeble attempts for a comeback. This squad is nowhere near the level its owner is expecting and modifications need to happen quickly. That is, if the Blues still want to salvage a season that’s distorted into a complete disaster.

With this new defeat, Chelsea moves to 8th place on the Premier League table. As far as Leicester City goes, they take the top but all the teams that can surpass them play on Wednesday and Thursday. Regardless of those results, these Foxes are starting to look more solid as the fixtures keep going by. It’s been four years since Leicester City played dominant football like we witnessed today.
