Lautaro Martinez’s future remains a subject of speculation but Carlos Beto Yaque insists that the forward will continue at Inter Milan.

FC Barcelona were expected to go all out on Lautaro Martinez this summer for he was understood to be on the top of their wishlist last season.

Barca’s pursuit of Martinez was driven by their need to prepare for life after the aging Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

Antoine Griezmann’s subpar form last season was another factor that augmented their interest in the Argentine attacker, who netted 21 times across 49 games in 2019/20.

However, as the financial crisis grew worse in times of a global pandemic, Barca’s interest gradually started to cool off.

Despite that, Goal reported earlier that the Catalan giants were planning one final move for their long-term transfer target.

It was also reported elsewhere that Real Madrid are now on the trails of the 23-year old striker and have even held meetings with his representatives to discuss a summer transfer.

Lautaro’s representatives were spotted entering Inter’s headquarters on Monday which only fueled the Real Madrid links, but the player’s agent has dismissed the rumors saying it was just another routine meeting.

“It was just a courtesy visit, that is all,” Carlos Beto Yaque told Tuttomercatoweb. “There is nothing with Real Madrid and Barcelona. Lautaro is staying here at Inter.”
