The Blues boss finds himself in a perilous position as punters tip him to become the second Premier League managerial causality.
Frank Lampard has become the new odds-on favorite to become the next Premier League manager to be sacked in the latest odds released by Betfair.
Things couldn’t have been more different for Lampard just a few weeks ago. Chelsea were just two points off the top of the Premier League table, having embarked on an impressive nine-match unbeaten run. Thrashing Sevilla 4-0 in Spain, meanwhile, booked them a Champions League last-16 spot as group winners.
Fast forward to today, however, the Blues boss’ future is under serious threat. A 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday means Chelsea have lost four of their last six games. Pending the outcome of Liverpool’s trip to Southampton, Lampard’s side could be 10 points behind the league leaders by Monday night.
And considering Roman Abramovich’s reputation for baring little patience with his coaches, Betfair feels even a club legend isn’t susceptible to the Russian billionaire’s wrath.
