The highly-rated Japan international gets his wish as he has cut short his loan spell at La Ceramica to head to another La Liga destination.
Getafe has announced the signing of Takefusa Kubo on a loan deal from Real Madrid until the end of the season.
Real Madrid’s decision to terminate Kubo’s loan spell at Villarreal comes out of concern for the player wasn’t getting enough development opportunity at the club.
Struggling to nail down a starting berth in Unai Emery’s line-up, the 19-year-old featured in the La Liga campaign 13 times, only two of which were starts, and failed to make any direct goal contributions.
The Japanese wonderkid urgently needed a change in surroundings, and Real Madrid have now made that happen.
A statement on Los Blancos’ official website read: “Real Madrid and Getafe have agreed the loan of Takefusa Kubo until the end of the season.”
Getafe are barely avoiding the relegation zone as they sit at 16th place in the La Liga standings. They have managed to amass just 17 points from 16 games and have a mere two-point gap from 18th placed Elche.
