Real Madrid players celebrated as Barcelona suffered the ignominy off their worst Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich.

Barcelona have sacked Quique Setien. Eric Abidal has also been swiftly ushered out of Camp Nou. The dominoes started falling after La Blaugrana’s 8-2 Champions League defeat.

Former Bayern Munich midfielder, Toni Kroos shared that Real Madrid players celebrated the demoralizing defeat of their arch-rivals. He shared that there was no pity for the Catalans and did not shy away from being happy about it.

“You could not show everything that was said, but you can imagine that there was no pity,” Marca quoted Kroos.

“There were some malicious celebrations.”

There is no love lost between the two clubs and their players. And it is certainly not the first time that they have rejoiced at the defeat of their rivals.

Kroos shared that Real Madrid players celebrated in a similar fashion when Roma knocked Barcelona from the Champions League.

“People were running around screaming up and down the rooms,” Kroos stated.

“Everyone here lives it that way.”
