During today’s press conference, Ronald Koeman gave his opinion on Pedri’s actual chances to play the upcoming Euro 2021 next summer.
Pedri is doing everything right in order to get a call-up from Luis Enrique for the Euro 2021, at least that’s what Ronald Koeman thinks. However, the Dutch manager also wanted to remind people that the youngster still needs to take his career slowly. Regardless of this, Koeman is still in awe with Pedri’s evolution over the last few months.
Today, the whole world is looking at him with their jaws on the floor. In fact, many are already comparing him to Andres Iniesta for his style of play. Pedri truly came out of nowhere, nobody expected him to be this good and Luis Enrique must be thrilled to have him on the squad.
Koeman thinks he is ready for the Euros.
During today’s press conference, the Dutch manager couldn’t hide his excitement for Pedri’s development. As per Sport, Koeman said the following: “Him going to the Euros is not my decision. However, it’s clear we can say many positive things about Pedri’s development so far. Nobody expected a kid his age playing all the matches, but there is no doubt he deserves it.
“Youngsters always have ups and downs and we have to look at his evolution very carefully. I have no doubts he will keep improving and he needs to keep showing this level of performance for a longer period of time. That’s what matters the most. We can’t go too quickly with him, but we are quite happy with him and his level.”
