At the post-match conference on Wednesday night, Ronald Koeman opened up regarding Barcelona’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Rayo Vallecano.
Ronald Koeman urged that Barcelona’s 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Wednesday night was an unfair outcome.
This was Barca’s second defeat in a row after losing Clasico to Real Madrid last weekend. Radamel Falcao’s 30th-minute curler was the only goal that separated the two sides yesterday.
As a result of this loss, the Catalan club now stands ninth in the domestic league. And it was not a shock, as the board decided to release Koeman from his duty at Camp Nou.
However, just after the game, the Dutch boss was not worried about his future and was of the opinion that the result should have been a different one.
“I don’t know if my future is in danger,” Koeman said at his post-match press conference. “We have players with goals in them. [Sergio] Aguero, [Memphis] Depay.
“It was difficult for us to get into the game, they put a lot of pressure on us. We’ve been superior. The result isn’t fair, but it’s there and we can’t change it.
“The game we lost today isn’t a problem of attitude or play. The team’s level has dropped. We’ve lost very effective players, which also counts.”
