Ronald Koeman has made the case that Barcelona are on the right track under him following the team’s second successive LaLiga victory.

Neither the harsh conditions nor playing with a clear disadvantage was able to stop a resolute FC Barcelona side as they ran out 3-0 winners against Celta Vigo on Thursday.

Ansu Fati, showing the maturity of someone unlike his age, struck elegantly at the 11-minute mark to open the scoring for the Blaugranas.

The second goal was all Lionel Messi as he made past the Celta defense, almost entirely by himself, with ease before attempting to send a low cross in the box. Messi’s cross, however, took a deflection and went past Ivan Villar into the back of his net.

Deep into stoppage time, Sergi Roberto also got on the scoresheet.

Barca played a good portion of the 90 minutes with a man down, having lost Clement Lenglet to a sending off in the first half, but little did their performance level dropped.

“From day one I have seen the players very hungry. They have trained with great intensity, they play as they train,” said Ronaldo Koeman, via Goal.

“Today they have shown until the last second, on a difficult field, that we are very well physically.

“Like any coach, I need time, but the team is much better than you might think. We have six points, we have scored seven goals and we have not conceded any. This shows that we are growing.”
