Ronald Koeman has informed a number of Barcelona players they can leave the club. Arturo Vidal is the latest player on that list.
Ronald Koeman has it all to do as Barcelona manager. The Catalan giants are far from being the dominant side we all know them to be.
A collapse on all fronts this season more than exposed the cracks that have been at the club for quite some time.
Ronald Koeman dreams of restoring things back to order. However, he has some work to do. It’s obvious Barca need fresh recruits but they must also get rid of deadwood at the club.
After their 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich, Gerard Pique admitted a lot of things needed change. Even down to the players. The Spaniard even offered to leave if there was need to do so.
Barcelona’s full training starts next week and it appears Koeman now wants to trim his squad ahead of next season.
Luis Suarez has already been told he can leave the club.
Marca now claims that Arturo Vidal has been given the same message as well.
Elsewhere, the likes of Ivan Rakitic, Samuel Umtiti and Junior Firpo are also not in Koeman’s plans for next season.
The club will entertain offers for them should any one arise. These players can also be used as make-shift in swap-deals.
Finally, the ‘old guard’ trio of Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Gerard Pique are still waiting to get a message from Koeman, if it will come.
